Don’t forget that there is Confirmation tomorrow, Wednesday, Feburary 13 from 5-6:30 p.m.
For those registered for Wednesday evenings, you should have received an email with information about rescheduling the class that was canceled due to inclement weather on January 30.
For all parents, note that due to scheduling conflicts with our speakers and guest presenters (due to both the weather and family emergencies) we had to change the lesson order.
For Wednesday participants, note that the topic which was originally going to be covered on January 30th will be covered February 10th and the night of our TBD makeup session will cover the topic that was originally scheduled for February 10th. The Sunday lesson covered this past week on the Communion of Saints was originally scheduled for Febrary 24th. It will not be covered until February 27th for the Wednesday group.
|Jan. 27||Holy Spirit|
|Feb. 10||Communion of Saints|
|Feb. 24||Four Marks of the Church|
|Feb. 13||Holy Spirit|
|TBD Makeup for Jan. 30||Four Marks of the Church|
|Feb. 27||Communion of Saints|
Unforeseeable changes like this are one of the many reasons we strongly encourage registrants to only attend the night they are registered for unless there is an emergency. Additionally, switching does not allow for the level of depth and conversation intended in small groups as consistent group dynamics and relationships cannot be maintained.
However, I understand that might not be possible due to this shuffling. The effort to attend a makeup session demonstrates an investment in your Confirmation preparation and I am fully supportive of that. While I highly encourage candidates to stick to their registered night and (even if not) to try their hardest to attend each topic at least once, I will not count missing a specific topic from among these three as an absence.
Absences will be calculated based on the overall number of nights missed for these three sessions. As long as a candidate attends three total sessions (between Sundays and Wednesdays) I won’t count it as an absence (even if that means one topic is covered twice during that attendance). For the final few sessions of the year (Lesson 13 and 14 and the final session), our ordinary attendance policies will apply.
Thank you for your understanding and patience with these circumstances. Let me know if you have any particular questions.
