Our parish will begin a planning study this month as a first step toward a major capital campaign to pay for urgent capital needs. Here are the details:
Q. What is a planning study?
A. The study involves a survey of all parishioners to determine whether there is support for the projects. The study also will help us establish a realistic financial goal for the fundraising campaign.
Q. Why should we conduct a planning study?
A. A planning study is a wise first step used by many Catholic churches considering a major fundraising effort. Capital campaigns that start with a planning study are more successful.
Q. What is a capital campaign?
A. A capital campaign is a major fundraising effort that churches use to fund big projects, such as major renovations and new buildings. The campaigns fund specific major projects and are not for regular, ongoing costs, such as salaries and utility bills.
Q. What do you expect of parishioners during the planning study?
A. Initially, we will be asking only for your feedback and prayers. Your input, participation and support will help us to make wise decisions about the projects. You will be hearing more about your participation in the planning study in the coming weeks.
If you have questions, please contact me at any time.
