Greetings OLL parishioners,

Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes while I have been in quarantine. It has been ten (10) full days, yesterday, Thursday, January 14th, since I started to have symptoms and have stayed home. Now, I am a free man (or as free as the rest of you are😊). The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) says so. And we can be sure that the MDH guidelines practice an abundance of caution to prevent the spread of this virus (Please see- If You Are Sick: COVID-19 – Minnesota Dept. of Health ( So, I will be “out and about”, including hearing confessions and saying Masses this weekend. I look forward to seeing you. Hopefully, I’ll have some renewed humor.

IN Christ,

Fr. Peter Richards
Our Lady of the Lake

Here are the MDH guidelines I am following from this part of the website – If You Are Sick: COVID-19 – Minnesota Dept. of Health (

How long to stay home

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19, stay home until all three of these things are true:
    • You feel better. Your cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms are better.
    • It has been 10 days since you first felt sick.
    • You have had no fever for at least 24 hours, without using medicine that lowers fevers.
