January 2011
Dear Parents,
We have one more event to add to the Catholic Schools Week activities. Our second graders are sponsoring the Pennies for Patients program at OLL again this year beginning January 31 and ending February 25. Pennies for Patients is a cancer education program and fundraiser benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the kick-off is on Monday.
During our Spirit Rally on Monday, we are gong to have a "Teddy Bear Toss". Students who bring in $1 and a new, small stuffed animal to school will participate in the toss and the animals will be donated to Children's Hospital. The $1 will be given to Pennies for Patients.
This year we have planned special coin days. Bring the following kinds of money on the designated day:
Monday - Dollars ($1, $5, $10)
Tuesday - Pennies
Wednesday - Nickels
Thursday - Dimes
Friday - Quarters
On February 14, bring $1 and wear red/pink. Bring another $1 and participate in "Put a CAP on Leukemia and wear a hat during school that day.
See the attached flyer for more information about the Pennies for Patients Program.
