  1. Another Day, Another Beautiful Moth

    I can't believe it.  As the Middle Schoolers arrived at school today, there was another huge moth on the steps to greet them. The eyespots on the wings are transparent.  
    This moth has a wingspread of over 4 inches.  It is amazing. I think it is a polyphemus moth.

    This moth was on our playground steps this morning.  I moved it to a nearby bush so I could photograph it.  It is beautiful.  
    I think it is a Pachyspinx Modesta (don't you just love Google?)
