TECHNOLOGY AT OLL
|
We have Smartboards in every classroom, a Neo Lab (the small Labtops) in third grade, Hand held responders, Audio/Visual system in spanish (teacher wears a microphone). The Audio system in Spanish is state of the art. The research has proved this is how instruction is best delivered for the greastest gains (especially when learning a second language). Each 7th and 8th grade Middle School student receives their own laptop from the school to work on during the school year. The tech lab is filled with PC's and the children benefit from frequent weekly classes and projects using software such as Microsoft Power Point and Adobe Photoshop. The staff at OLL utilize the class pages on the website to post daily homework assignments, weekly spelling lists, and teacher messages and reminders. |

Spanish is part of the curriculum from Preschool until 8th Grade. Students attend Spanish at least once a week in Preschool, and more frequently in the upper grades. New this year is a State of the Art Audio/Visual system that enables greater gains while learning a second language. The system involves hand held responders for each student while the instructor wears a microphone. |

MUSIC AT OLL
|
Music is part of the curriculum and includes instruction using Recorders, written materials to teach the students the parts of music, and choral practice. The culmination of all of the hard work of the students is a large production each year for both the elementary and the middle schools (at Christmas and in the Spring). These programs are quite extraordinary! Bring your video cameras!! |
